The neighbours have spoken!
The Bayview Glen SNAP Action Plan was prepared using a collaborative, community based approach. Engagement activities provided residents and stakeholders meaningful opportunities to contribute to the Plan’s development.
The planning framework, guiding principles and goals of the SNAP reflect the valuable ideas and aspirations of local residents, government organizations, and stakeholders.
Participation opportunities included:
- A homeowner survey (conducted in February-May 2014 and mailed to 715 households in the neighbourhood)
- Key informant interviews (March 2014)
- Municipal staff and agency sessions (three meetings in the Spring of 2014 with City of Markham, TRCA and York Region staff)
- Two fun fairs (June 2014 and June 2015)
- Community meetings
- Focus group
