Conservation Youth Corps – Code of Online Conduct

To ensure that all participants feel safe and supported during our Virtual Conservation Youth Corps Program, all participants agree to follow these guidelines:

  • Be Respectful – Respect yourself and others by being friendly and respectful toward other members of our community. Be mindful of others’ feelings and engage in respectful communication in all formats. Harassment in any form – including name calling, taunting, gestures, jokes, or ridicule – is not allowed. Conduct referencing or directed at an individual or group based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, gender, age, disability, or other extraneous factors will not be tolerated. Offensive or inappropriate language is not to be used in any form of communication.
  • Be Kind – Lend a hand when someone asks for help or seems to be struggling; give others the benefit of the doubt if conflicts occur.
  • Be Responsible – Take ownership and responsibility for your words and actions and consider their impact. Ask for help if you need it and communicate your feelings and concerns with others.
  • Be Safe – Do not give out any personal information such as your last name, phone number, address, email address, or links to social media.
  • Be Aware – Remember that when cameras are used other members of the program can see you, so dress accordingly. This also applies to anyone or anything that may be in the background of your online screen.

Thank you for doing your part to help make our program successful for all participants!
