Is food included in my child(ren)’s camp fee for Claireville Conservation Area 2024 summer camps?
We provide freezies on the last day of camp, and marshmallows for some camp programs depending on the week booked. Campers bring their own nut-free lunches.


What age groups are Claireville Conservation Area 2024 summer camps offered for?
Claireville Conservation Area 2024 summer camps are for children ages 4 to 11. Age groups are divided as follows:

  • Bumblebees: Ages 4-5
  • Chickadees: Ages 5-6
  • Fireflies: Ages 5-7
  • Cicadas: Ages 7-9
  • Coyotes: Ages 9-11

What is the ratio of campers to counselors for summer camp at Claireville Conservation Area?
We have a 1:10 ratio for staff to camper, except for our youngest age group (ages 4-5), which has a 1:8 ratio.


What should I do if my child(ren)’s age group is sold out? Can they participate with another age group?
If your child’s age group is sold out, please contact jasmine.green@trca.ca to join our waitlist. Campers are not able to participate with other age groups.


What is your cancellation policy for summer camps?
Cancellation requests received by TRCA more than 30 days before the start of the camp program will receive a 75% refund of the relevant program fees paid. Cancellation requests received by TRCA less than 30 days before the start of the camp program do not qualify for a refund. Rescheduling is subject to availability. There is no refund for camp days missed or children opting not to participate in activities. Cancellation requests must be received in writing by email to vservices@trca.ca. Minimum registration numbers required for camp to operate. In the event TRCA must cancel the camp due to low registration or government order, a full refund will be issued.


What happens if a day of camp is cancelled?
In the event Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) must cancel a camp due to low registration or government order, a full refund will be issued.


What happens if my child misses a day of camp?
There is no refund for camp days missed or children opting not to participate in activities. Rescheduling is subject to availability.


How can I prepare my child(ren) for 2024 summer camps at Claireville Conservation Area?
Campers should be fully able to use the washroom on their own, wash their hands, and open all of their lunch containers.


Is 2024 summer camp at Claireville Conservation Area held indoors, outdoors, or both?
We are an outdoor camp, but we do have an air-conditioned indoor facility for handwashing, washrooms, lunch and snack breaks, and in case of inclement weather.


Are summer camp facilities at Claireville Conservation Area nut-free?
We are a nut-aware facility. Campers and staff are reminded not to bring any nut products to camp.


Once I’ve registered my child(ren), when do I need to have the camper information package completed? Where can I find it? Why do you need it?
Camper registration forms should be completed upon booking to ensure that we have all the information about your camper. The booking documents can be found at the bottom of your invoice. They are used to inform staff of any allergies. We print them to have parent/guardian contact information as well as the name(s) of your child’s authorized pickup.


Do I need any specialized equipment for my child(ren) to participate in 2024 summer camps?
No.
