January 13, 2023, Toronto, Ontario — At this morning’s annual Board of Directors meeting, Paul Ainslie, Councillor representing the City of Toronto’s Scarborough-Guildwood ward, was elected Chair of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s (TRCA) Board of Directors. Councillor Ainslie has been a member of TRCA’s Board since February 2006 and brings over 25 years of governmental experience to the role including positions on numerous boards and committees. As Chair, Councillor Ainslie will preside over TRCA’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings.
Mayor Dave Barton of the Township of Uxbridge was elected Vice-Chair of TRCA’s Board of Directors. Representing the Trail Capital of Canada, Mayor Barton is an avid outdoor enthusiast and previously sat on the boards for the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority and the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority.

Comprised of representatives from the City of Toronto, the Regional Municipalities of Peel, Durham, and York, and the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio and Town of Mono, TRCA’s Board of Directors is responsible for the organization’s strategic direction and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
