In this half-day Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) certification, students will develop the knowledge and skills to identify local angiosperm and gymnosperms, will and gain an understanding and appreciation of these plants.
Students will learn the basics of identification, including leaf form and arrangement, flower and seed parts, locations and more.
Field investigations will utilize a dichotomous key as participants take part in an independent plant identification activity to demonstrate the skills they have learned.
