In this half-day Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) certification program, students will gain an understanding of the importance of fish to both human and natural systems, as well as current issues in the management of this natural resource, and will learn how to identify a wide variety of fish species inhabiting Lake St. George.

Participants will take part in the capture-and-release process by cooperatively hauling in a seine net.

Students must demonstrate their ability to use a dichotomous key to identify a fish, and complete a short multiple-choice quiz in order to receive the certification.
